DEAREST Heart Partners…don’t be duped by my title this week…this post is for us ALL! As we approach “Father’s Day,” I am quickly reminded of my MOST incredible and MOST important Father which is my HEAVENLY FATHER! Whether you are known as Father, Daddy, Abba, Papa, Pops, or Dad, YOU my dear ones play a critical role in the lives of your children, or children you are mentoring! According to developmental science a FATHER either plays, “safety and security to his daughter, or “role model” to his son! Now, to be honest, those roles can be tricky to carry out depending on your JOURNEY OF LIFE!! So, the BEST NEWS is we all have a HEAVENLY FATHER who is so very happy to play both roles and MANY MORE in our lives if we access HIM through HIS SON, YESHUA!

So, you might be wondering about DADS, who they are, and maybe why didn’t you get a good one here on earth? I cannot answer all of your individual situations but I can give you a NEW PATHWAY to understanding who you are as God’s son or daughter…YOU see we are not promised a perfect set of parents, or a perfect life here on earth, but ONE thing we can count on is that our HEAVENLY FATHER will always make a GREAT TESTIMONY out of each of our life situations! Jesus does not want us focusing on the not so great things that may have happened, but instead HE makes it very clear that YOU and I are desired, wanted, chosen, and adopted into the FAMILY of GOD through YESHUA! Check this verse out, Ephesians 1:5 TLV “HE predestined us for adoption as sons (and daughters) through Messiah YESHUA, in keeping with the good pleasure of HIS will—“ THINK about it, “predestined for adoption” “determined in advance by divine will” OKAY…Just knowing YOU were on GOD’s heart and mind in advance…to be ADOPTED!! WOW! If you are reading this and are adopted into your earth family then you probably KNOW how desired, wanted, chosen you are! Personally, as a MOM I longed, dreamed, prayed, and kept praying for my amazing daughter, and as many of you did also even your biological children, you know how much those children received of your heart life before they were ever born! It’s pivotal to our journey to KNOW we are wanted…and interestingly enough…FATHERS are often the ones who share that with their children!! Can you guess why??? Well, God created each of us with a PATTERN, and the pattern and gift of fatherhood is to make sure each child KNOWS they are and were desired! One of the greatest ways to really KNOW that you are wanted is through your father’s teaching, disciplining, and overall LOVE through their instruction. God made an important provision to INSTRUCT FATHERS from HIS word, Ephesians 6:4 TLV “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the LORD.”

OKAY DADS…you have a divine mission with your children, one that MOM can’t really do as she has other calls on her life for her children!! So, no matter how your amazing children arrived into your family, YOU dear Father have a life-giving role to fulfill, and dear children you are to HONOR your Father as God tells us in His word! Whether you are an adult child or still developing, it is important to find that space of grace and find ways to show LOVE and HONOR to your earth Daddy!

Now, if you are still struggling with your earth Dad, KNOW that GOD YOUR FATHER can help you forgive, re-connect, have grace, and most importantly how to demonstrate love and care to your Father this coming Father’s Day! Our Heavenly Father loves us so much, and HIS COMPASSION and MERCY are never ending, so I encourage you to dig into HIS WORD, and gain wisdom and insight on how to be the SON or DAUGHTER HE has called you to be! Remember, although our earthly father may have raised us, we too can be a part of raising our Dads to the FATHER in prayer! ALL DADS could use more prayer, as they have humongous SHOES to FILL…and don’t forget we weren’t all EASY children to raise…I love this passage of Scripture in The Message, Romans 5:20-21. “All that passing laws against sin did was produce more lawbreakers. But sin didn’t, and doesn’t, have a chance in competition with the aggressive forgiveness we call GRACE, When it’s sin versus grace, grace wins hands down. (Remember GRACE is GOD’s unmerited favor). All sin can do is threaten us with death, and that’s the end of it. GRACE, because God is putting everything together again through the Messiah, invites us into life—a life that goes on and on and on, world without end.” Isn’t that great news??? So, I recommend sharing GRACE with your earth Father this Father’s Day, it just might change his heart and point him to his HEAVENLY FATHER! Let your Dad see GOD’s Testimony in your life and celebration of him!

I for one am eternally grateful to have been adopted into the family of GOD…I pray each of you reading this know YESHUA as your personal Savior! And if not, remember HE is just a call away!

I want to PRAY for a HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all of the earth Dads out there!! May you embrace your call and live it out loud to your children (young and older)! Know YOU are loved and thought of as our CREATOR made you with honor, love, and care! May you live your purpose unto Jesus, and be the TESTIMONY that points your children to their Heavenly Dad too!
