OKAY, so many of you may know that phrase, or you may have asked that question of yourself…
What is my true NORTH? Well, there is a fantastic scripture reference and it most assuredly has spoke volumes to me recently. D’varim(Deuteronomy 2:2-3 CJB) “Finally, Adonai said to me, “You have been going around this mountain long enough! HEAD NORTH…!” Most of us if we are honest with ourselves can identify times in our lives where we have “circled, or stayed too long,” when God in His amazing grace and mercy was urging us to move onward. I accept and honor this word, as I finally MOVED NORTH…but it is always crucial to provide context so we all can process GOD’s LOVING ways of moving us onward.

Defining one’s TRUE NORTH is important as it can change and transform over time, so currently I had a personal and professional revelation that my “compass” had gotten stuck! Stuck you may ask? YES! My compass had become in a fixed state of belief that I was doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing and at my very best, and this was it! But, GOD said, NO, incorrect…I HAVE MORE! HMMM…what did this mean, I had no clue, so I searched only for what I knew as I set out on my NEW ADVENTURE…until DOORS started slamming, and my heart began to SPEAK LOUDLY and HONESTLY! I began to realize that “north” was representing new moments of serious or deep contemplation with Yeshua, where the lessons I had learned were truly being integrated and woven into the fabric of a new life!

I began heading out on NEW hiking trails in my new land, as I am passionate about hiking with my family and pups! These trails have been like none other in my life, but most likely because I am in REDWOOD, PONDEROSA PINE, and DOUGLAS FIR country! The smells, wildflowers and stunning beauty captivated my every step! As I hiked and prayed, I kept hearing GO NORTH…and I thought, well I am NORTH, what am I missing and then it happened…on a gorgeous hike crossing a little stream I fell to the ground hitting my knee, and face, smashing my glasses, but actually catching myself with my hands. My family of onlookers describe it in “slow motion” as being pushed down by an outside force. Ah-HA…now I knew, I was being challenged for my NEW decisions, as my whole hearted desire is to LIVE for JESUS and go HIS way, and BE ALL IN at ALL COSTS! Back to the fall…as I gathered my wits, my daughter trying to stop the blood on my face, I was calling for Jesus…I saw a man, who had not been with us on the trail, but then all of a sudden there. Was he an ANGEL? Hmmm not sure, but I do know he did not leave…he even stabilized my family member as he lifted me to safety out of the creek! My heart and spirit wanted to MOVE ONWARD, I needed to know if I could still hike??? And guess what, the DK or Glama you know lives by; “she can do all things through Christ who strengthens her,” was up and walking and onward I went! All glory to God! The angel? We never saw again, but he did not depart until we were well on our way! I hiked 5 miles that day through gorgeous yet steep terrain, but GOD showed me my COMPASS had been really STUCK and it was time to take a second glance at it! How are my injuries? I am healing, and I have not ceased moving or processing this great falling lesson! I trust you too will be encouraged to process your “falls, illnesses, failures, bumps in the road!”

A glance back, I had interviewed for a NEW CAREER PATH…a job calling my heart, my TRUE NORTH, one that asked if I was GUIDED BY; GOODNESS, LOYALTY, FAITH, and FUN, and I can answer that with a resounding YES YES YES! Will it surprise folks, shock them maybe?? Well, as God so advises us to only share with a trusted few, I did! Those few folks reminded me of things I had forgotten, dreams, goals, heart paths, and they have lovingly supported my NEW NORTH with great exuberance! Remember to not only FIND YOUR TRIBE, but to ASK GOD for your TRUSTED TRIBE, HE WILL NEVER DISAPPOINT! So, onward I go, ready to shine my light for Yeshua and beam with HIS love, grace, and mercy to care for the hearts of others on my NEW TRUE NORTH journey!
